Skylar Lawrence was tragically taken with the awful disease, a few months back, in October 2017.
The two most common strains are B and C.
The B vaccine has been available since 2014 but is not funded as part of the National Immunisation Program.
It costs about $125 per injection and four are needed between the ages of two and 12 months. Some of the cost can be recouped through private health insurance. Skylar’s parents, Sally and Ash, are pushing for this fatal strain, to be covered by the government. The illness is so swift and similar to Gastro – this makes it impossible to recognise, except for the bloody bruises that appear, usually making it too late.
ALL PROCEEDS will go directly to the Meningococcal Australia foundation, where further research can be done into this disease.
The evening will consist of Canapes served throughout the evening, Champagne, live music, few speeches and Silent Auctions!!
Jordan Ravi is an amazing local artist who is donating his time and talent for us all to enjoy!
