Cake School

Darwin’s first cake decorating school!

You can watch the magic bake and come alive, while sipping on some tea.

The Chantilly Kitchen Cake School runs structured classes throughout the year as well as arranged private classes.

Already renowned for their irresistibly tasty and gorgeously decorated handmade treats, Chantilly Kitchen Tea Room is now offering budding bakers the opportunity to learn the craft of cake decorating at their Cake School located on-premise at Aralia Street in Nightcliff.

The Chantilly Kitchen Tea Room Cake School is the first of its kind in Darwin and offers a rare opportunity to learn from the best in the business.

If you’re passionate about baking, or just keen to pick up a few skills to help you around birthday party or Christmas time, then the Cake School is for you. It’s also perfect for the budding bakers with kids’ classes on offer during school holidays or by appointment.

Event Navigation

  •  Meningococcal disease is an acute bacterial infection that can cause death within hours if not recognised and treated in time.
  • In Australia there are 5 main strains of the disease.
  • Although the majority of victims will recover fully, 10% of those infected will die, and around 20% will have permanent disabilities — ranging from learning difficulties, sight and hearing problems, to liver and kidney failure, loss of fingers, toes and limbs and scarring caused by skin grafts.
  • Meningococcal disease can strike babies, children and adults – anywhere, at any time.

Skylar Lawrence was tragically taken with the awful disease, a few months back, in October 2017.

The two most common strains are B and C.

The B vaccine has been available since 2014 but is not funded as part of the National Immunisation Program.

It costs about $125 per injection and four are needed between the ages of two and 12 months. Some of the cost can be recouped through private health insurance. Skylar’s parents, Sally and Ash, are pushing for this fatal strain, to be covered by the government. The illness is so swift and similar to Gastro – this makes it impossible to recognise, except for the bloody bruises that appear, usually making it too late.

To SHOW SUPPORT, The Chantilly Kitchen Tea Room, along with other local Darwin Businesses, have teamed up to create a special evening.

ALL PROCEEDS will go directly to the Meningococcal Australia foundation, where further research can be done into this disease.

The evening will consist of Canapes served throughout the evening, Champagne, live music, few speeches and Silent Auctions!!

Perhaps you could grab a group from work and come along together.

Jordan Ravi is an amazing local artist who is donating his time and talent for us all to enjoy!
